LA Villalba

Luis Alberto Villalba was born in 1991. He grew up in the neighborhood of Cornellá, on the outskirts of Barcelona. During all his student days, even before high school, he used to carry a camera in his backpack, next to the sandwich. It was usual to perceive some flashing from his camera during trips with his school. He was already the meddlesome boy from 8 years old.

He was largely influenced by his brother who has already been in contact with video and photography professionally. He observed his point of view with curiosity. Luis thinks that today this is the best way we have to communicate and to express ourselves.

When he finished high school he decided to study photography, which his mother did not like very much. “Study something more normal”, she told him.

In 2009 he obtained a diploma as a technician in the image laboratory and he carried out practices as a photojournalist in the newspaper El punt / Avui portraying political, sports and social interest activities.

Later on, Luis got his degree as a superior image technician, complementing his training in photography, video, analog and digital processing, video editing, lighting and some production concepts. After finishing the course he had the opportunity to do internships and collaborate for the production company Puente Aereo Films, oriented to commercial spots, on multiple occasions with exquisite audiovisual content. During the stay in Ites Imatge, he expanded his knowledge in the fields of preproduction, production and postproduction during filming or photo shooting.

To focus more on his work, in 2015 he finished the master's degree in photojournalism at the UAB in Barcelona. Having presentations by the most competent professionals in the sector at the national and international level of the Spanish speakers.

During these years he has been working on Street photo (social and documentary photography), photography and video in weddings, events, publicity, short films and video clips. Recently, his finished his first documentary with his brother,  called Reneixer.

His way of being and his style gives him the opportunity to relate to people in a natural way, because before he use to appear as a photograper... But mainly, he likes to listen, connect and try to understand the people, to listen, connect and try to make them understand him. Maybe the circle of knowledge.
